CRISTAL

THE TSAR’S WINE

Louis Roederer’s House’s most famous wine was created in 1876 to satisfy the demanding tastes of Tsar Alexander II. The emperor asked Louis Roederer to reserve the House’s best cuvée for him every year. He was particularly fond of the House’s wine. To distinguish this cuvée, this exceptional champagne came in a flat-bottomed, transparent lead-crystal bottle. The new brand was named after this precious material, which is particularly transparent and luminous.

“One of the greatest vintages of Cristal ever made”

A wine of pure pleasure and a sophisticated gastronomic wine, Cristal is both powerful and delicate, combining subtlety and precision

Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Cellar Master

PURE HARMONY

Produced uniquely during the best years, when the Chardonnay (around 40%) and Pinot noir (around 60%) grapes have attained perfect maturity, Cristal is aged for 6 years in Louis Roederer’s cellars and left for a further 8 months after dégorgement.

Cristal 2007 is a magnificent example of Cristal’s ‘discreet power’.

— Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Cellar Master

Just released to the market this year the 2007 Louis Roederer Cristal looks to be a real “Champagne stock”

The very first Prestige Cuvée Champagne was created in 1876 by Louis Roederer to satisfy the demanding tastes of Tsar Alexander II and it was named “Cristal”, referring to the unique, transparent crystal glass bottle that allowed the beautiful colour and effervescence to be shown. For more than a century, the appearance of the patented Cristal bottle has remained unchanged as a result of its ever-expanding global demand. But, it is undoubtedly the quality of the Champagne itself which has established it as a very worthy member of an elite group of the world’s most special wines. To quote one of the leading Champagne critics, Essi Avellan MW, “one of the finest wines on earth.”

This magnificent example of Louis Roederer’s famous Prestige Cuvée is not only rated as the 3rd best vintage of all time by Antonio Gallonio of the Wine Advocate, it is also one of the cheapest vintages available in the market today.

Louis Roederer Cristal 2007 Cristal shouts “undervalued” and will make a valuable addition to diversify any collector’s portfolio. At only £575.00 a case we firmly believe this represents a great entrance price when compared to its peers shown below - In a few years you could potentially be drinking half of your collection for free!

Vintage champagne is only released to the market when the producer deems it ready to drink, the supply tends to evaporate very quickly – looking at the Liv-Ex data today there are less than 10 cases available for the majority of the vintages listed above and only 1 case of the 1990 which is nearly 4 times of the 2007!!

We are currently able to offer up to a maximum of 10 cases per client at this price with all orders subject to final confirmation.
