Chateau Latour is a French wine estate, situated within the very south-eastern tip of the Pauillac commune in the Medoc region to the north-west of Bordeaux, dating back to the 14th Century.
Currently owned by Groupe Artemis (Artémis Domaines as at November 2022), the holding company of François Pinault who also recently acquired a small holding in the Champagne house, Jacquesson. In June 1993, Mr François Pinault bought the Allied Lyons’ stake via his holding company Artémis.
The vineyard currently consists of 92 hectares of vines, including the 47 that surround the Chateau, known as the “Enclos”. The elder vines are said to be 100 years old, with younger vines that require patience to bring the magic of Latour to the table. It is not very well known that the 40 hectares outside of the Enclos are used in the Forts de Latour blend, with the younger vines used for the Pauillac.
