Veblen Wines Ltd was established in November 2008 acting as a service provider in the fine wine marketplace, and are specialists in buying, selling and valuing the wines of Bordeaux. 
 
We assist private individuals in managing, servicing and trading their interest in fine wine.

We are trading members of the London International Vintners Exchange (Liv-ex). This is the fine wine trading exchange, which has over 350 members globally. These members make up 80% of the estimated 3.4 billion euros (source: CIVB as at 2014) of fine wine traded annually.

Fine Wine Appraisal

If you want to build, restructure or sell your fine wine portfolio, one of these options could benefit you.

 

​Trade Account:


This involves buying wine on our advice (we specialise in the wines of Bordeaux). Our charge is performance based where we take 15% of the gross profit that is made when wines are sold in the future.

 

The service covers full management, including storage and insurance (additional cost, please see terms of business), advice on when to buy and sell and quarterly valuations sent via email with prices taken independently from the Liv-ex fine wine exchange alongside a market report. You will also be provided with a consultant who will be on hand to keep you up to date and deal with any queries that you may have.

Reserve Account:

This account is for the management and selling of wines that have not been purchased from our company. The charge for this account is set at 10% of the gross sale price on any wines that we sell on your behalf.

 

The service covers full management, including storage and insurance if sold in first year (additional cost, please see terms of business), advice on when to buy and sell and quarterly valuations sent via email with prices taken independently from the Liv-ex fine wine exchange. You will also be provided with a consultant who will be on hand to keep you up to date and deal with any queries that you may have.

Dual account:

This is a combination of the two accounts listed above.

 

The service covers full management, including storage and insurance if sold in first year (additional cost, please see terms of business), advice on when to buy and sell and quarterly valuations sent via email with prices taken independently from the Liv-ex fine wine exchange alongside a market report.

 

The additional benefit of using this account is that the dealing rate for wines not bought from our company is set at a preferred dealing rate of 5% at the gross sale price. You will also be provided with a consultant who will be on hand to keep you up to date and deal with any queries that you may have.

The Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (CIVB or Bordeaux Wine Council), founded in 1948, represents the three families of the Bordeaux wine industry: winegrowers, wine merchants and brokers.
As such, the CIVB has 3 missions:

Marketing: develop the notoriety of Bordeaux wines in France and abroad through advertising campaigns, digital communications, public and press relations, and training

Economic: acquiring data and improving knowledge relating to the production, the markets and the sale of Bordeaux wines throughout the world.

Technical: improve the industry's understanding of various technical issues relating to the production and quality of Bordeaux wines and anticipate new environment - and health-related requirements.
